. and then earlier in the morning, in corona, california, some lapd officers, who were assigned to security detail of an officer, who was mentioned in the manifesto and was off duty, these two officers were driving in corona, getting off a freeway, when they believe that dorner opened fire on them. one of those officers suffered from a grazing wound to the forehead. so in all, three separate shooting incidents involving people here. dorner apparently having an ex--military record. when you read the manifesto, it's at times bone chilling. he warned everybody that he said you are aware i have always been a top shot. the highest scorer and an expert in rifle qualifications in every unit that he had been in. and he said that he would utilize every bit of small arms training, demolition, ordinance and survival training. in the manifesto, he alludes to wanting to exact revenge after being fired on a number of different people. and he obviously threatened both of these officers and their families, and that's why his link to the killing -- those killings earlier this week of a police officer's daughter. h

the breaking news. >> a massive manhunt is on the way for an ex-lapd police officer targeting police officers and their families. he's accused of shooting to death a river side police officer earlier this morning and wounding two others. just a short while ago the river side police department gave this update. >> two river side police officers had been shot both officers were transported to a local hospital, where one of them was pronounced deceased. the second officer is currently in surgery and his condition is unknown. the suspect did flee the location and we were in the process of trying to identify the suspect and apprehend them. >> the suspect is 33-year-old christopher jordan dorner. he was fired from the lapd in 2008 for allegedly making false statements. he is accused as well of shooting a young couple to death in orange county this weekend. the slain young woman, monica qwan, was fuan, was the daughter of an lapd officer. the murders are believed to be in revenge for his firing. dorner posted a manifesto online saying this is my last resort. the lapd supp

that dorner got into a shootout with lapd officers late last night, killing one, injuring two others. the lapd made this statement about the fatal shooting which began while the officers were pursuing a separate incident. >> nothing was said. the distance -- the officers were maintaining a safe distance away from the suspect's vehicle and it was immediate. the officers had no chance to respond or talk or anything. extremely intense, extremely volatile situation. the suspect is armed and is dangerous and shows a propensity to shoot when confronted. >> police believe that dorner is the same person responsible for killing that couple on monday that you see on your screen. we're going to follow this story from los angeles, bring you more as it develops. >>> to other news, back here on the east coast, you know a storm is going to be a bad one when airlines offer ticket changes before the snow starts falling. the northeast now bracing for it, whether it's one foot of snow, two feet, or a full-on blizzard. forecasts seem to agree some kind of major storm is imminent. world of white expected to pound

, there have been two separate shootings this morning. one in corona, california. and this involves an lapd officer. and then the other shooting here in riverside, about 1:30 this morning, when two riverside police officers on what they termed to be patrol, were ambushed by the suspect who has military training or boasts of it in that manifesto. let me see if i can tell you what he said in the manifesto about all of this. he said, quote, "you are aware that i have always been the top shot, highest scorer and expert in rifle qualifications in every unit. i will utilize every bit of small arms training, demolition, ordinance and survival training." in this manifesto, he specifically names and warns a lot of lapd officers. he is a former lapd officer. and at the end of the manifesto, sort of a bone chilling warning, i have the strength and benefits of being unpredictable, unconventional and unforgiving, do not waste your time with briefs and table tops. the man they are looking for is conspicuous, he is 6'0", 270 founds. that is dorner. as we link these together, this is three separate inciden
